Day Two

Monday, June 11,2012
We woke up at 6 o'clock and had breakfast. It really wasn't that good. The day was the hottest of the week. At 7:30 we loaded the bus and headed to Arlington National Cemetery.
It became a cemetery during the Civil War. When the war started General Lee moved to the South. The Union decided to bury the dead bodies in his yard, so he wouldn't come back. There were so many graves there, it was astonishing. We saw the Kennedy's grave and many other famous people's graves. After walking up the hill, we walked around Lee's house. Then we walked to the Tomb of the Unknown, where four of the guys that were with us changed the wreath.

Then the bus dropped us off at the Air and Space Museum. We ate at the McDonald's in the museum, it gave me a stomachache. We saw actual space shuttles and old air planes. They even had a picture from space of Coeur d' Alene.

After that we walked over to the Natural History Museum. There we saw dinosaurs and gems. The dinosaurs were really cool, there was totally a stegosaurus, and when I saw it I immediately thought, "'My time machine worked!' 'I am a stegosaurus!'"
When we looked at the gems, we saw lots of really amazing diamonds and stones. We also saw the Hope Diamond.
Next we walked to the Holocaust Museum. It started on the 4th floor and spiraled down. The top floor had all the information about the beginning and then spiraled down in chronological order about the Holocaust. Then we got picked up by the bus and drove to the WWII Memorial.
After that we drove to dinner. We all had chicken, meatballs, potatoes, salad, and a cookie. To drink I had lemonade. The chicken was disgusting.
When dinner was over we road to the Kennedy Center and watched a play called "Shear Madness". It was all about 8 people in a hair salon, 2 of them were cops trying to figure out who murdered a resident of the building. It was hilarious!
Then, when the play was over, we went to the hotel and when to bed. It definitely felt good to get out of the 97 degree day, and out of sweaty clothes.
